2003 Bay Lusitano Stallion
APSL Studbook: 210622
IALHA: 15078
Xemino is an APSL approved bay Lusitano stallion, lovingly called Gene around the barn. Owned by Sarah Macone, he now resides in Aiken, SC. He is almost exclusively Veiga bloodlines to notably include Dardo II, Quimono and Bailador. He has excellent conformation, a beautiful yet flexible neck, strong and impulsive hocks and a classical profile. His piaffe and passage have superb rhythm and flexion. He has a phenomenal temperament, superb rideabilty and stunning movement. When asked, Gene could go to work as an exceptional dressage performer or take a quiet hack out in the woods. He is sensitive without being nervous and has the most tremendous work ethic you could ask for in a horse. His overall demeanor at shows, expos or at home is constantly complimented on. He is truly an amateurs' horse in every sense of the word, competing successfully with a Junior Rider. Gene consistently passes on to his foals, his exceptional hock flexion, sweet and thoughtful temperament, easy and willing trainability, and his show stopping looks and balanced movement.
Awarded the 2013 USDF All-Breeds Jr/Young Rider Second Level IALHA Purebred Championship. He schooled successfully up to Fourth Level in Dressage and trained under Karl Mikolka, the former chief rider of the Spanish Riding School.
